Conference Calls of 2009 were open to anyone with a telephone and an interest in Huna. Topics of focus varied and numerous aspects of practicing Huna were discussed. Attendance was good, but if you weren’t one of the ones involved, you can still hear the discussions. Links below will give you the recorded transcript in whatever format works best for you. There is a lot of information here and you might want to listen more than once.

HUNA LIFE TRAINING & CLEARING CALL – 4/12/2009

Q/A between Manawanui and Rev. Jaymes V. Alexander, HLP.W. regarding the topic of this call …

Q: Jaymes, what is the single most asked question about HUNA other than what HUNA is?
A: What I hear repeatedly is, “I read all of Max Freedom Long’s books but I still don’t know how to do it.” Simply put, they have read his books and often many others and have no success in getting HUNA to work for them.

Q: What will participants get from the one-hour conference call?
A: I understand that most of the people who will be attending this training will have read Max or other books on HUNA which would have described the principles of the “Three Selves” and their relationship and energies. The purpose of this call will be to inform and clarify the Three Selves principles and to demystify them and then give specific techniques to overcome the most common difficulties:

1. How to heal oneself and others
2. How to pray effectively to get what is wanted for self and others (usually money or change in circumstance)
3. How to use Ho`oponopono to have the above two benefits

Further, what needs to be stated is that one, of if not the most, important purpose of learning HUNA is to be able to gain a more definite and certain communication with your Aunihipili and Aumakua. This is done by removing blocks that are within the individual. Much of this clearing can be accomplished quickly if the individual understands and knows how to use “Intentions.” I will be sharing how to do this in the training. We will also do this together. When you suggested this call I had to ask myself what can I communicate in an hour or less that would be of paramount value to the participant. Learning how to clear yourself and open your own personal gateway is the greatest gift of HUNA. What I will share in this call and do with the participants will go a long way to establishing that connection within them so that they will be able to continue work long after the call is over.

Manawani: Thanks

Teresa on Huna Clearing Call with Rev. Jaymes Alexander – 4/20/09

Huna is not a spectator sport! I have heard that said many times and yet sometimes you find yourself a spectator of you own life. Recently I was reminded by the clearing Jaymes Alexander gave in the huna call training.

I have had the privilege to see this man in action and just by listening to the call i felt the clearing take place. I backed this up with the relearning through the bulletins and realized that through a hurt from my own family that there was a hala hanging over me.

Now don’t get me wrong i love what Jaymes is all about but, and a big but here I have to take charge of my own clearing. Sometimes you need a little help from your friends and that is what happened. Thanks Jaymes :)

I am now back to a daily clearing, if no more. I feel my energy level increasing and check that with the use of my pendulum.

Huna is not a spectator sport!

EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION USING A PENDULUM – 4/29/2009

The the biggest question people have right now is how to communicate better with themselves. Additionally, we want people DO the work rather than talk about it. The goal of this call is:

* that you learn how to clear yourselves and to introduce yourself to yourself.
* to establish clear communication and to ask for and get assistance from your Aumakua.
* also to create a Mana reservoir for instant use in connection to create manifestation.

WHERE IS THE MAGIC? -  6/10 & 6/17/2009

According to Rev. Jaymes Alexander, there is little “magic” in Huna. In this call, we further explore the nature of the relationship of the 3-part self and how this awareness can help you get results. The content of this call will focus on “Why HUNA” and what it really means to practice HUNA, along with our sacred relationship of the three selves and ours to the Ke Akua or the Divine Force. How, by understanding these relationship, you can clear your communication paths which, as Manawanui says, creates “Get’er Done!”

CALLING INTO EXISTENCE THAT WHICH DID NOT EXIST BEFORE!
- 9/27/2009
By Rev. Jaymes Alexander

I don’t know about you, but there is a lack of understanding about how to tie all the parts of HUNA together into a workable way of life. There is NO unity and here is where we, as HUNA people, need to learn how to embrace the HUNA way by learning how to call into existence that which did not exists before! This technique will not only assist you greatly in your practice but will reshape your life, assuming that is what you want, to not only be able to use your HUNA techniques but to also merge them into a way of living your life the HUNA WAY.

HUNA LIFE CHURCH DAY OF REMEMBRANCE
A/K/A
HAWAIIAN DAY OF REMEMBRANCE
In HUNA LIFE CHURCH we selected October 26th as our Day of Remembrance primarily because it is the day that Max Freedom Long made his transition.
What is the Day of Remembrance? It is the day that we take out time to remember those that have made their transition before us. It is respect that we the living, pay to those that have gone before us. It is not necessarily about fallen heroes but rather about anyone and everyone that has made their transition. And for paying our respect to those that we were close to us. Giving thanks for their contributions to our lives.
There is another part of this day that we honor as well and that is being of service to the Ke Akua or Living Divine Force. It is on this day that we as a membership create our connection through our Aumakua to assist Poe Aumakua and the Ke Akua in calling those that are lost who have made their transitions but not into the Light.
How do we do this as followers of the HUNA Way?
In our remembrance of our loved ones we gather Mana and send to their Aumakua to be used as they so see fit. We do this by doing deep breathing and channeling the Mana to our Unihipili and it will in turn send it to our Aumakua with our intentions. Our Aumakua knows what to do and will take that energy and direct it appropriately.
In our act of being of service to those in general who have made their transitions but have not joined the Light we create with our Aumakua the channel for them to join the Light. This is done by gathering Mana and sending it to our Aumakua with the intent of creating through our connection to the Ke Akua a gateway for these lost beings to join the Light. I first get permission from my Aumakua to do this. I do this by establishing the connection to my Aumakua through my Unihipili, state my request to open this channel through it for this purpose. Once I have received this permission I visualize my Mana going to the Unihipili and to the Aumakua and then I watch as the Aumakua establishes the communication to the Ke Akua and create the gateway. To me this has always appeared as a large column of Divine Light. It comes from above from where I know not but ends with me here or near me and I am the anchor here. I then do the Ha Rite or prayer by calling through the Column of Light to all beings that wish to join the Divine Light to enter the column. I am not in judgment but rather I am a facilitator of this action. Many times I have not watched to see what entered but I am aware that many beings do enter. I hold this column for about fifteen minutes or until I start getting tired and then I announce the closing and give thanks for those that have joined and state that I have hope for those that for whatever reasons were not able to join the Divine Light will do so in the future. With cooperation from my Aumakua we release the column.
It should be noted this action is not restricted to just the Day of Remembrance but we do it on this day as HUNA LIFE CHURCH members for sure. It is part of our duty to the Ke Akua as well as being a person of Light!

REMEMBERING MAX FREEDOM LONG ~ October 26, 1890 – September 23, 1971

Our beloved Max has Graduated. Thursday at 11 P.M., September 23rd at his hilltop home in Vista, California. I shall tell the story as simply and factually as possible.

Considered by many to be the world’s greatest authority in the Polynesian religion, we HRAs will grieve because we knew him to be the greatest Kahuna of our era. He was always available, our teacher, guide, ‘secret friend’ and confidante. As a great philosopher, author and writer, he was never too busy to pray for us or to answer our long questions with a personal letter. We rejoice with him as he wings his way ever onward and upward. Huna And The Three Selves by Serge King

Serge King explains the principles of the 3 Selves, though he uses different names than Max Freedom Long.

Serge King is reported to have studied Huna with Huna Research organization in his early career. He ended up being a Kahuna through another tradition. Though he doesn’t represent the Max Freedom Long lineage, he is certainly one of the most well known Huna teachers today.

3 Key Principles to Huna

Question: How can I use Huna for myself?

Answer: That is a great “selfish” question if you understand how far you can go with Huna.

1. First, decide what you want for yourself. You must be very specific. That was the very thing Max said in his first Huna Bulletin in 1948. You must decide what you want and stick to it. Lani says, “Pray as if you can’t get out of bed without the help of your Aumakua, and live your life as if your Aumakua doesn’t exist.”

2. The second step is to improve your ability to be Self Sourcing in your life and to do the TMHG.

If you are Self Sourcing you take complete ownership and responsibility for your actions and their consequences. If you want to be happy, decide to be happy. If you want a friend, be a friend. You don’t need anything external to yourself in order to be happy, for example, for you are the source of your happiness, and the fulfillment of all your needs

3. The third step though would be to stop and ask yourself what is the most important thing that you want. Max said that the most important thing you can seek in life is to Graduate into an Aumakua. I know this may be hard to fathom. What if you made your agenda in life to spiritually grow and evolve as much as possible and still enjoy your life? That is probably the most important thing you can strive for.

There are things you can do right now to cause growth.

Spiritual growth occurs naturally by being alive. Daily challenges cause a person to grow even if the person lives poorly. By waking up in the morning there is some evolution. Challenge polishes a person’s soul. Image the friction of life causing spiritual growth similar to how oysters create pearls because of the grain of sand rubbing against it.

You have a choice in the challenges you take on for yourself. What if the concerns you handle are in the service of other people, not just your own well being? Isn’t this something that we all long for? To make a difference for other people?

Service to other people puts a person on an accelerated spiritual growth path. You still get the struggles for the growth, but the lesson come quicker because you have chosen this rather than having it forced upon you.

What is the Secret to Huna Power?

July 13, 2007 by livepowerfully

Question: How and what is the Huna secret to power?

Answer: The secret is in who and what you are affiliated with, not just your personal capabilities to heal and be powerful. Huna is not merely a set of techniques to apply for yourself. Rather, it is a living and breathing tradition of people working together to help each other live better lives and evolve throughout this life and even through death. Huna is a lifestyle choice.

To summarize, your power can come from these main sources:

1. Power comes from the Po`e Aumakua which is the collection of individual na Aumakua (High Selves) that works on the behalf of the group. This is enhanced with the TMHG, the prayer created by Max and still continuing today. It works by sending mana (energy) and prayers (‘ano’ano) for manifesting into reality. Some Huna groups have their own prayer groups for members. It is very important to know how the prayer group or TMHG is led before you begin to participate.

2. Power comes from your own Aumakua. You can develop this power by improving the relationship within yourself and properly seeking its support. Your Aumakua opens the way as you pursue what you choose in life.

3. Power comes from your Ohana, or chosen Huna community. In the West we have lost the family-oriented and tribal way of life. The culture emphasizes independence and self-reliance. A person can accomplish much more in connection with like minded people.

4. Power comes from your own personal ability to decide what you want and to use tenacity and intention to make it so. Many techniques are available in Huna to support this.

5. Do you need power after you have died? The teaching of Kahuna Max and Kahuna Oscar Brunler is that there is almost no mana in Po (The Void) and land of the dead.

As you have very little mana after you die, your physical power is limited as well. But in Huna, the duty of the living is to support the deceased on their journey and while they’re in the Dreamworld. This is done through an offering of mana-infused `Awa (kava kava) during a formal `Awa ceremony held on the Holy Day of Remembrance.

What are the most important Huna practices?

June 23, 2007 by livepowerfully

Question: What are the most important Huna practices?

Answer: Well, from my perspective, that would be the TMHG and Firewalk of course. Both require initiation to do.

The Firewalk has been a sacred ceremony for thousands of years in many tribes. The Huna Firewalk Ceremony that has emerged in Huna is tribal with roots in Polynesia.

In fact, Huna was born in the Fire. It was in 1872 when William Tufts Brigham walked over hot lava with the last three Volcano Kahunas on the Big Island, Hawaii. This was his initiation to direct contact with the spiritual forces that evolved through his life and Max’s into Huna.

It is kind of ironic that Max never firewalked ,since he spoke so much about it and unraveled so many other mysteries in Huna. But nobody was available in his day to initiate him. This was long before the Firewalk movement of the 1980s. At one point he almost had somebody to initiate him but the Firewalk Priest died before his Firewalk Initiation could occur.

But Max did lay down the groundwork for firewalking in Huna as a ceremony. In Huna, the Firewalk Ceremony is proof that a person has faith and becomes the model for how to live with the 3-part self in lokahi (unity and harmony).

The TMHG (pronounced: tim-hug) is the other critical Huna practice. You can access the TMHG by submitting a Prayer Request to a Prayer Kahuna. All 3 organizations in Max Freedom Long’s lineage have an active TMHG for joining on a regular basis or submitting requests for prayer support.

Are there still Kahunas today?

June 15, 2007 by livepowerfully

Question: Are there any kahunas still around to learn Huna from?

Answer: There most certainly are. Na Kahuna (Priests, Ministers, and Experts) are still in Polynesia and they are in Huna as well.

But your question needs to be re-stated to avoid confusion.

First of all, I assume that you mean a kahuna that teaches the religious or spiritual side of things. There are na kahuna who are experts in many different areas such as wood carving, canoe making, etc.

Further still, there are religious na kahuna of Hawaiian and Polynesian tradition and of the tradition of Huna. The term “huna” is a word in the Hawaiian language that means “secret” or “dust.” But it didn’t refer to a system of spirituality like it means to many people now. The teachings of Huna are actually not Hawaiian, though have many roots and links to Hawaiian spiritual traditions.

Max Freedom Long wanted to give a name to the system of teachings and practices he had learned from his kumu (teacher) Kahuna Ha`ole Nui (Great White Priest) William Tufts Brigham, other religious na kahunas or inferred from his own research. This system he called “Huna.” So from here on, when we refer to “Huna,” we mean the religious and psychological system created by Max Freedom Long and continuing until this day.

So you ask, are there religious na Kahuna of Huna? There most certainly are.

There are a couple of people who learned directly from Max and many other people who have spent their lives studying the writing and recordings he has made and trained under these mamo or “descendents” of Kahuna Max. These na Kahuna of Huna function as religious priests and ministers to people who need help or as teachers for people who want to learn about Huna for themselves.

There are Kahunas of 3 main organizations that originated from Max Freedom Long.

  • Huna Ohana (Huna Research, Inc) – This is an extension of the original HRA organization founded by Max Freedom Long. It focuses mostly on the psychological systems taught by Max. Lots of techniques have been integrated and added, such as hypnosis, NLP and other techniques. http://www.huna-ohana.com
  • Huna Heiau - This is a religious organization that has focused on creating a Huna Priesthood. Na kahuna of this organization have specialized training in areas originally laid out by Max Freedom Long. Examples are Haku Pule (Prayer), Kalo (Tarot), Ho`ola (Healing), Firewalking, Koa (Exorcists). Na kahuna offer service to people with problems that may be helped by the application of those particular Lores. http://www.hunaheiau.org
  • Huna Life – This is a religious organization which is a moderate balance between the psychological focus of the HRI and the religious/ceremonial focus of the Huna Heiau. Bottom Line: Use only what works the best. http://www.hunalife.org

Back to your original question… were you wanting to know if there are na kahuna in Polynesia or people trained in these traditions to teach you? Well we are certain that there are. But we don’t know much about those things since the Huna tradition is now only loosely linked to Hawaii. It has some important ties that you will learn about if you continue to explore MaxFreedomLong.com, but not enough that we would know who na kahuna are at this time. But if you want to discover maybe a search online or a trip to Hawaii would help.
